The Acuity products are not like software that you buy at the computer store - they consist of software that runs on the web server where your website resides. Licensing works along those lines too - it is measured against the number of websites you want to manage.

Acuity CMS

Acuity CMS - Website Licence - $99.95

The website licence allows you to run one copy of Acuity CMS on a single website - e.g. www.yoursite.com. The number of pages you can manage is not limited.

Acuity CMS - Domain Licence - $149.95

The domain licence allows you to run as many copies of Acuity CMS as you like on a single domain name. This can be useful if you wish to install separate copies of Acuity CMS for different people to update different parts of a site, or if you wish to run separately managed "microsites" within your domain name.

Acuity CMS - Server Licence - $449.95

The server licence allows you to run as many copies of Acuity CMS as you like on a single server. This can be useful for hosting companies, ISPs, web developers, or organisations who may wish to run several websites on different domain names.

Acuity CMS - Organisation Wide & Distribution Licence - $999.95

The organisation licence allows you to run as many copies of Acuity CMS as you like on as many servers and as many domain names as you like within your organisation.

In addition, the distribution licence provides you with a royalty free, non exclusive licence to sell Acuity CMS, and to use or modify Acuity CMS's source code, including the ability to attach your own modules and applications.

You may not bring a product to market that competes directly with Acuity CMS or provides substantially the same functionality as Acuity CMS, and you may not remove Acuity CMS branding or copyright messages from the administration system. (Note: Branding limitations apply to the administration system only. Your public websites are not required to display Acuity CMS branding.) Copyright remains with the creators of Acuity CMS. Acuity CMS - Rebranding & Distribution Licence - $1499.95

All of the rights of the organisation wide and distribution licence plus the ability to remove Acuity CMS branding from the administration system. This is because Acuity CMS is sold as a "ready to go" application for a specific kind of website management requirement, whereas the visual editor is a tool that can be integrated with many other kinds of software.

• A non-source licence allows you to use the product without modifying core source code
• The source code licence allows you to modify core source code for your own needs
• The application licence allows you to use Acuity Visual Editor within a product of your own
• There is no user-based licensing on the visual editor
• Everything comes with a year of free upgrades
• No official support, but you'll find us very helpful because we want to have happy customers and improve our products. :-)
• Note that Acuity branding and links may not be removed without a rebranding licence
• We'll provide various usage examples and configuration options - e.g. use within forms, use as a popup window, turning buttons on and off, etc.
• We plan to provide a cut-down ("lite") version in the near future that will be cheaper but will not have some of the more advanced functions like external code cleaning

About Default Installations

Default installation packages make the following assumptions:

• The CMS is installed in its completely default form. We will make sure each CMS component is operational on your host server. No template development, HTML construction, design, or other support services are delivered with a default installation.
• We will be provided with full appropriate access details to your web server - e.g. FTP access, SSH access, web admin console access, or other access as required.
• Your web server fully supports the required technologies and configurations for operating Acuity CMS prior to commencement of installation. Please check the Acuity CMS documentation and system requirements with your web host before engaging our services.
• No warranty or on-going support for the installation is provided.
• Fees for a failed installation due to any of these assumptions not being met are non refundable.
• Now that you have read all the disclaimers, note that we'll work diligently and passionately to make your experience with Acuity CMS as delightful as possible. We're the kind of people who like to help raher than hinder. ;)
