This page lists aggregate updates for formally released versions of Acuity CMS. Internal sub-releases are not listed but updates are included in the aggregate version notes. If you would like to know more about a specific past, present, or future feature or bug please let us know.
2.7.1 (PHP) - March 2005
- The big change is that all of the WYSIWYG editor features of the latest ASP versions have now been installed in the PHP version, along with a few extra goodies that will come to the ASP version soon.
- Added: Select other pages automatically from the link window without needing to manually enter URLs
- Added: Anchor selection from link window
- Added: File selection from link window
- Added: Page properties button in left menu
- Added: Add column before/after option on tables (previously could only add columns "before")

- Fixed: Javascript error caused by certain combinations of options on horizontal rules
- Fixed: Remove </CONTENT> from every page (bug in page_content.php)

- Fixed: Alter style sheet to use "%" instead of "em" for font sizes to avoid IE bug
2.6.3 (ASP) - November 2004
- Enhanced: Added link to file manager from main menu, don't have to use image or file functions to get to it now
- Enhanced: Search results now order by title in default package (was in DB entry order before)
- Fixed: Incorrectly referenced variable names in a few places
- Fixed: Search form in starting point site produced an error
- Fixed: Was possible to cause infinite redirection loop by using "/" as a URL in the Redirect URL field
2.6.2 (ASP) - March 2004
- Added: Named anchor management tools - adding and listing
- Added: Ability to install Acuity CMS in directories other than the default, and also install multiple admin systems on one domain website (if an appropriate licence is purchased)
- Added: New image identifier icons for the file manager, easier to recognise different file types
- Added: File manager will work separately for each admin system installed in one site, hence separating management of images and files appropriately
- Added: Meta description field in page properties (helps with search engines)
- Added: Created and modified dates for in page properites, and also available in front end website via GetPage function.
- Enhanced: Link selection tool now offers option to link to named anchors on same page
- Enhanced: Link selection tool now provides list of named anchors in other pages when selecting links to other pages.
- Enhanced: Documentation overhauled and updated. A lot of great new stuff has been added including a functions reference, detailed upgrade instructions, and updated installation instructions (including for sub directory installation that is now available in 2.6.1)
- Enhanced: Starting point website tweaked, including use of dynamic meta tag fields in standard template.
- Enhanced: Main pull-down menus updated with new functions, and slightly re-ordered.
- Fixed: Bug with page properties being overwritten with blank data every time a page was saved from the WYSIWYG window
- Fixed: Delete page function no longer shows incorrect page if popup blocker (e.g. Google popup blocker) installed in browser
- Fixed: Javascript error if cancelling special character isertion dialog no longer happens.
- Fixed: Problems with horizontal rule function when selecting default alignment and shading options.
- Fixed: Manual font selection dialog no longer produces Javascript error (Format menu > Font...)
- Fixed: Link to website from admin system now opens in new window rather than in the top menu frame
- Fixed: Some Javascript and frame naming issues cleaned up
2.5.2 (ASP) - November 2003
- We're pretty happy with this release. It doesn't look like a lot of things have been changed, but there are some important improvements.
- Added: Automatically link to pages from Acuity repository (instead of manually setting templates and IDs)
- Added: Automatically link to files from file manager (instead of manually choosing URLs)
- Added: Ability to set file manager directories to "read only" or hide completely
- Added: Template selection and redirect URL settings now fully integrated with all menu functions for easier URL management and selection of different layouts
- Enhanced: WYSIWYG editor does not reload on every page menu selection, the system is much, much faster now
- Enhanced: Page properties now available from one central location
- Enhanced: General usability improvements to main menu and interface
- Enhanced: Core settings file updated with new settings, default template, simpler file manager configuration, and better documentation
- Enhanced: The product now requires no configuration changes at all for a default installation
- Enhanced: Table and image management buttons improved
- Enhanced: Hidden element and table border settings now "sticky" once the features are switched on. (No longer need to switch them on for each separate page.)
- Fixed: Some loading issues fixed
- Fixed: The horizontal rule button works now. (We discovered there is on "onlick" function in Javascript - it should be "onclick". ;) )
Acuity CMS PHP Edition 2.4.1 - September 2003
- Full PHP conversion of Acuity CMS

- We'll have to re-think our version numbering policy now, this page will probably change. :)
