Hi

I usually design sites to integrate flash presentation & navagation tools ... will these be easy to use via your CMS?

Thanks,

Balrog.

PS ... Example site ... The Gables Ambleside

Hi Balrog,

In the example site you show there, I noticed you used frames. If you're using Acuity CMS you could do things exactly the same way, except that the bottom frame would be your "dynamic" CMS page. Or you could avoid using frames and simply embed the Flash presentation into the Acuity CMS page template. Either way, it's very simple.

Note that this approach means that the user cannot update the navigation system inside Acuity CMS, since it would be "fixed" either into the frame or the page template. This is probably what you want in any case. However if you do want the user to have the ability to change the Flash file, you would need to put the navigation into the content part of Acuity CMS.

The current version of Acuity CMS does not have a button to embed Flash files into content. The user can upload Flash files via the file manager, and embed them into pages if they know HTML, but there is no "point and click" way to put a Flash file into a page. A new version of Acuity CMS is coming soon that does have a "point and click" interface for embedding Flash into page content aswell.

I hope that answers your question.

Cheers!

Hi A,

I've had a play about with uploading a flash file to the demo site and referencing it via your HTML edit mode and everything seems OK.  One minor problem ... the code I pasted was altered, but the flash presentation still works OK.

See ... http://demo.acuitycms.com/browse.asp?page=301 ... for a working example. Lets hope I get the new contract!

Balrog.
